I Love My Family
On Friday, we got a box of fine amerikanische items from my family:
- Girl Scout cookies
- Velveeta-brand macaroni & cheese dinner (this is Shelby's thing -- the Velveeta is, according to her, what really makes a boxed mac & cheese dinner)
- many rolls of SweetTarts & Bottlecaps
- Thorlo walking socks for Shelby's aching feet
- Milk-Bones for Scout
- The Simpsons - The Complete Third Season DVD set
- Some of the first polished stones from my brother Zach's rock tumbler
We've already enjoyed a fine mac & cheese dinner, burned off our tongues with some of the candy, and watched most of one Simpsons DVD; this box will be enough to give us our American cultural fix for weeks to come. I love my family even if they
don't send us boxes, but getting care packages from the States is nice, too! Thanks, Mom, Dad, and Zach!
