I had a great day yesterday! My friend Ragon came down and we went to lunch and wandered around the Block at Orange. We capped it off by watching Akeelah and the Bee. What a great movie! It's about an 11 year old, Akeelah, who discovers a talent for spelling. She's from South Central Los Angeles and must fight her way to the National Spelling Bee. I won't give away the ending except to say there's a nice twist I wasn't expecting. Talk about the feel-good movie of the year, this one's fantastic. I loved it.
